Incorporate one or more of these tips
for a sharper mind.

Casey Zeller

Who wouldn’t want a little more focus or to have a sharper mind? Infomercials won’t let us forget that exercise can help tone our bodies, but what can you
do to buff up your brain? Here are three of the best brain-boosting habits you can start incorporating into your routine.

1. More sleep. Physically, we all know what it feels like when we don’t get enough sleep, but there are real consequences to sleep deprivation. Lack of sleep can negatively impact cognitive function, including attention and memory, with some studies showing that people driving without enough sleep had the same reactions to driving conditions as people who had been drinking. Getting enough sleep is also beneficial to the immune system and can help with weight maintenance. Make sleep a priority and if you find you’re having trouble falling asleep, try a natural sleep aid, such as NUTRILITE Valerian and Hops.

2. More fish. The omega-3 fatty acid DHA*, found in ocean fish, helps support memory, learning, and concentration1. Add ocean fish such as salmon or tuna to the menu a few times a week, and if you don’t like fish, supplement with an omega-3 softgel that contains DHA and another omega 3, EPA**, which helps protect nerves and keeps blood flowing and joints moving. NUTRILITE OCEAN ESSENTIALS® Balanced Health has both DHA and EPA. If your kids are picky eaters, give them NUTRILITE BRAINIUMS DHA® gummy supplements, a tasty way to help them get their omega 3s.

3. More nutrients. Certain serious deficiencies of some nutrients, such as B vitamins and iron, can lead to impaired cognitive function. It’s hard to eat perfectly every day, so supplement with a multivitamin that contains optimal amounts of essential vitamins and minerals, plus antioxidant-rich plant concentrates, such as NUTRILITE DOUBLE X® Vitamin/Mineral/Phytonutrient Supplement or NUTRILITE Daily Multivitamin/Multimineral.
